Katha Kingdom

History of Katha Kingdom

A small kingdom located between the valley of Chindwin River and Hukwaung Valley. Although there is no historical fact about the origin of the kingdom, it is believed that the remnants of early Pyu people established the small kingdom, which was later captured by the Pagan Kingdom.


Capital of Katha Kingdom

Located in the valley of Chindwin River, the capital of Katha Kingdom is standing peacefully. It is also famous for its jades and marbles.



Civilization and Culture
The culture of Katha is believed to be the mix of early Pyu culture and the tribal cultures, such as Kadu People and Thet People, which are also Tibeto-Burman Tribes migrated from Nanchao.
